Want to become a Coach?

If you've ever played a sport or been part of a team, then you know the powerful impact a great coach can have on your success. It's a great opportunity to be coached by someone who can inspire the team and knows how to get each player to be their best.

When a coach not only expects the best, but also gives their best, a bond is formed and great things can happen...
Good Day,

If you are visiting this page, this means that you may be thinking about potentially coaching the sport of wrestling in Mahwah. We are always looking for help. We host a fine program in Mahwah and in order for our wrestlers to continue to strive towards success, we rely heavily on the help, dedication and support of our coaching staff. Unlike most sports, wrestling is a highly individual sport. That means we need to not only coach these wrestlers but also inspire and motivate them to help reach their goals.
Being a good coach means being a great leader. Because great leaders are able to get their players motivated, excited, and eager to succeed.

Everyone wants to win! No one wants to lose... Our job as coaches is NOT to be obsessed with winning, but to be obsessed with success! There is a difference. Winning in wrestling simply means winning matches and getting a medal... But success is teaching a wrestler to build confidence through self-reliance. Success is showing a wrestler a new move or technique and not doubting their actions when applying it in a match. Success is turning a new or timid wrestler and turning them into someone that is determined to not give up and finish a match strong.
Great coaches do this by leading, not dictating. A great wrestling coach conveys excellence in everything; being not just the best coach, but the best man that he can be. Wrestling is more than just a sport, but a way of life that teaches principles that can be applied both on and off the mat.

My question for you is... Are you up to the task?
