What makes our program unique?

Unlike most programs in our area, Mahwah's youth wrestling program boasts two teams. One team consists of all the wrestlers in our program from kindergarten to 8th grade, matched against other wrestlers of their same age, weight & experience. The other team is run just like a High School dual team and competes with set weight classes with the full High School atmosphere.

To maximize the success of both our teams, we have set practices geared towards the experience level of our wrestlers.

• Beginners:  Led by Coach Jerred Vales & Coach Bobby Correggio

• Advanced:  Led by Coach Bobby Correggio, Coach Daniel Nelson, and Coach Derek Cunningham

• Tri-County Team (or by special invite):  Olympic Wrestling Club, Wyckoff, NJ

We have lots of fun - but we are also proud of our achievements!

At the completion of the 2018/2019 season, Mahwah held:
  •  14 place winners and 5 champions at Districts
  •  4 place winner and 2 champions at Regions
  • 13 place winners and 5 champions at the Mahwah Novice tournament

Individually,  Mahwah Youth Wrestlers had 5 place winners at the 2019 State Championship tournament among the 8  TBird's who qualified.

At all levels, Mahwah Wrestling prides itself on its coaches, parents and wrestlers working together toward a common goal of raising the level of wrestling in Mahwah.
